Adventureland Madeira

Madeira Island beyond the main roads

Four-wheel-drive journeys along Madeira’s rural and forest tracks, led by local guides who know the island’s quieter corners, traditions and less obvious rhythms.

Another Madeira lies beyond the main roads. It emerges along old municipal routes, forest tracks, small villages and mountain landscapes where nature still sets the pace. Adventureland Madeira explores this territory in Land Rover vehicles and a Jeep Wrangler, equipped for journeys both on and off the road.
Madeira off the usual trail
Departing from Funchal, tours are available on a shared or private basis and are led by professional local guides. Routes cross rural areas, forests, mountains, villages and lesser-known viewpoints, revealing a side of Madeira shaped by local traditions and everyday island life.
The journey matters as much as the destination. Old municipal roads, off-road sections, agricultural landscapes and carefully chosen stops allow guests to experience each place without rushing. Between mountain and ocean, every itinerary presents a different perspective on the island.
Private tours, made to measure
Explore Madeira in a 4x4 reserved exclusively for you, your family or a group of friends. Adventureland’s private tours are shaped around each traveller’s interests, preferred timetable and pace.
A day might focus on mountain peaks and viewpoints, historic villages, the Laurissilva Forest, the waterfalls and trails of Rabaçal or Fanal’s atmospheric, mist-covered landscape. Tours can also include markets, local producers, wine tastings, sugar-cane mills and other encounters with Madeira’s flavours and traditions.
Expert guides help guests select where to go and how long to spend at each stop. The route can also change during the day, following the weather, the light or an unexpected suggestion from someone who knows the island intimately.
From sunrise to sunset
Special experiences include a comfortable sunrise outing accompanied by coffee. Another programme visits Pico do Areeiro and the traditional Santo da Serra market, bringing together one of Madeira’s most striking landscapes and the lively character of a local Sunday market.
Towards the end of the day, Adventureland takes guests to its private setting for sunset. With a panoramic swing, a glass of Madeira wine and the island unfolding ahead, it is a peaceful way to bring the journey to a close.
Groups, incentives and tailored experiences
Adventureland also develops programmes for groups, companies and incentive travel. Experiences may include roadbooks, peddy-paper challenges, orienteering, team-building activities, outdoor adventures and nautical programmes, tailored to the aims and size of each group.
Travellers wishing to explore Funchal without carrying their luggage can also use Drop & Go, the company’s luggage-storage service on Rua D. Carlos I.
Licensed by Turismo de Portugal under registration RNAAT 815/2015, Adventureland presents a relaxed and personal way to discover Madeira, guided by people who know the island from the inside.
