The Views Oásis

A family resort beside the Atlantic in Caniço, with pools, a spa and access to the seafront

A few metres from the ocean, The Views Oásis exchanges the rhythm of the city for the sound of waves. A family resort in Caniço, with gardens, pools and days that need not be watched too closely.

In Caniço de Baixo, the Atlantic is not simply part of the view. It can be heard from the balconies, follows guests along the promenade and appears between the gardens. The Views Oásis occupies a quiet stretch of seafront near Reis Magos Beach, away from Funchal’s bustle and almost directly on the coastal walkway.
Rooms open onto balconies and the clear light of Madeira’s southern coast. Many face the ocean; others overlook the gardens and hillside. The atmosphere is bright and informal, designed for longer stays, families and travellers who prefer to alternate island excursions with whole afternoons beside the water.
The outdoor saltwater pool follows the ocean’s edge. There is also a heated indoor pool and a spa with sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi and Moroccan hammam. Younger guests have their own territory in the Mini Views Playroom, children’s club and outdoor areas, without turning the holiday into an over-managed programme.
Dining is spread across several settings. Acquamarina lets the sea into the room; Atalaia travels through Portuguese and Madeiran flavours; the Pool Bar handles late lunches and drinks between swims.
Funchal is only a short journey away, though there is little urgency to leave. A walk beside the ocean, a swim at Reis Magos or an afternoon in the gardens can form a perfectly complete itinerary. Here, Madeira is seen from the waterline — with time, space and family close by.
